Help: Spyware detected on your computer. ?

Problem Summary: Help: Spyware detected on your computer. ?
Last week while checking my mail there was a message displayed on my screen(on limited user account) which says like this "Spyware detected on your computer. Install an antivirus software or use spyware remover tool to clean it." This message was neither displayed by my antivirus software (McAfee antivirus) nor spyware terminator software ( I think the message was displayed by windows antivirus or firewall ). The message was displyed as if it was my desktop wallpaper (on full screen, blue background and message in BIG letters). Then i scnned my pc, I found a spyware installed in D:/windows/system32/drivers folder. The virus was "SVCHOST.EXE an BACKDOOR SPYWARE" (as detected by spyware terminator software). I cleaned from both D: drive and from the registry entries. I scanned my pc for second time and no detections were found, but when i logged on to my user account the message was still getting displayed. Then i did a SYSTEM RESTORE to the point 1 week before. Now the message is gone. But i dont understand why the message was displayed even when the spyware was removed.
Can u guys explain wats happening.
Thank u.
