I received an email subject Fotos, and unfortunately opened the attachment. After running AVG scan it detected a trojan.downloader and after running malwarebytes it gave me a log with registry files winnt5 and winntr1 and i manually deleted them . A day later my C drive showed a different value(being nearly full, instead of the 50gb i had available). My computer is now crashed, cannot even start-up. It shows up a blank screen and cannot run safe-mode etc. I have a studio 15. What should i do? i am guessing the only option is to reformat my comp which has vista.Will that permanently remove the virus. And am i susceptible to it even a 0.01% after the reformat. Could i backup my documents(pics,vids etc) or is that a threat since those might be infected too? Would really appreciate your help.Thanks.

Hi,
A month ago, my mother\'s email was attacked by \"fotos\". What I mean by this is that her email automatically sent messages to all her contacts with 3 attachments under the title of \"fotos\". I did not receive the email from her at the time.
Today, I logged into my Hotmail account and found that the \"fotos\" had hit me as well. So far, 20 messages have been sent out under \"fotos 07/08\". I did not send these messages.
I have been researching the issue since. I do not understand whether this is a virus, a trojan or something else. Many sites recommended to change my email password. I did that about 5 minutes ago and made sure the password was very strong.

This is a Virus Or Bug. I have run an anti-virus run (Full scan) 3 times, and it says my computer is clean. It is up-to-date (Symantec antivirus is its name). I dont know what to do but not cheak my email.
