It happened before (half a year ago) but after a re-installation through an image it worked fine again until now.

Sound works fine in VLC player and Widows Media Player (all file types, incl *.rm)

I uninstalled the codec K-lite and reinstalled the newest version K-Lite Codec Pack Full. Still no sound

I reinstalled the newest driver from realtek for my integrated sound card. No changes.

My computer runs on windows XP pro, avg antivirus, zonealarm firewall.

I am running Vista 32-bit (I am running avast anitvius and zone alarm)

There is no sound at from my Media Player Classic player - it was working fine and now there is no sound

the last time I remember using it is when I copied a swf file (game) from my temp internet files and played it on my computer. I think there was sound and then the sound cut when I was playing it - I am not sure.
This may or may not be the last time had sound.

Sound works in VLC player and Widows Media Player perfectly (all file types)

checked sound mixer - volume is up and all mutes are off

I just uninstalled the codec K-lite and reinstalled the newest version (K-Lite Codec Pack 4.5.3 Full is now installed) - still no sound

I restarted my computer many times before and after the install of the new version of K-lite

I disabled and then enabled the audio switcher - still no sound
