A few days back I picked up a bug that seems to be similar to the gaobot worm. I tried to use my malwarbytes but just as it started to scan it closed the program and then when I tried open it again it gave me a window that said, “Windows can not access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.” Next I tried to run the mrt from the start menu and it gave me the same window. I then tried to go online to try and get some answers but found that explorer would not open I didn’t get any windows but it just doesn’t open. I also have google chrome so I was able to get online threw it and tried a few things with out success. Part of the problem is that I am connected via a broadband device so when I reboot I loose my connection. I ran the combofix but I think that the not having a connection when it reset my computer did noy allow it to work at it’s fullest. Another problem is that when I run windows in safe mode with networking it still does not allow me to turn on the WWAN device to connect to the internet. The last thing that I tried was uninstalling malwarbytes and then redownloading it but not running it, then I restarted in safe mode and ran the program successfully it found four infected files and was able to remove them. After a reboot in normal windows mode all the problems were still there except malwarbytes witch will run but does not find any problems. One other thing is that I tried yesterday to do a sys. restore but it did not complete successfully and now today I do not have any restore points to even try.

2 days now and scanning with McAfee\'s most up to date engine and dat and it still is in the computer somehow. Used McAfee stinger and it didn\'t help. Tried Trend Micro housecall and nothing. Just installed Vista service pack 2 and got the message that it was W32/Gaobot.worm.gen.u - Win32/RBot.3eu!Worm. It causes internet explorer to open on its on going to random websites and causes music and radio shows to play in the background with no way to stop them. Please help!
