Yesterday, using a program called Startup Optimizer that shows you all the applications running on your P.C. (i think even in the background) and allows you to enable or disable those applications you want to be dis. or enab. putting or cancelling a flag beside them, i noticed that there was the app. KernelFaultCheck ,that i had never saw before in the tab of this program nor in the Windows taskbar. The application was flagged , but it didn\'t run and there was a line beside it sayng:[Invalid Path]%systemroot%\\system32\\dumprep 0 -k .I have to say that the same day i had detected, using avast! home 4.8 in bootscan mode, a file called C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\44428984.Evt infected by a virus-worm called Win32:Agent-AABX [Rtk] .The option repair failed so i putted the file in the avast! virus-chest.These are all the informations i can give you, cause i\'am a beginner in computers and i\'m working with an old machine bought used.I hope you can gently give me some help.Truly yours,Aliskandar. Maplestory and KernelFaultCheck
Problem Summary: Maplestory and KernelFaultCheck
I run Windows XP and I had just installed Maplestory\'s latest patch. When I click on \"Play\", it starts up regularly and the screen turns black to start up the game, but then it freezes and I have to turn it off. When I rebooted, there was a message about declining or accepting a change in the KernelFaultCheck area. I clicked accept, and it still doesn\'t work. I tried going to My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Start Up Recovery Settings > and fooled around with write debugging settings by changing the kernel memory dump to the other options and starting up maplestory to see if it wouldn\'t restart. It still doesn\'t work. =(
