I accidentally unistalled the Sims 3 launcher and so I can\'t get the Sims 3 to run. Is there any way to just install the launcher so I don\'t hane install the hole thing again and lose all my saved games?

I\'m trying to install The Sims 2 onto my Toshiba Satellite laptop. It\'s worked just fine before, and I\'ve never had this problem, until now.
I put the first disc in, and it loads until it gets to twenty percent. A box pops up and says \"A problem occurred while trying to copy the file \'TSData\\Res\\Sound\\Sfx1.package\' from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file or cancel the instilation?\" I hit retry, but about 5 minutes later, the same box pops up.
I\'ve hit retry at leat 7 times now, but it\'s still not working. Like I said, I\'ve played The Sims 2 on this laptop before, and it\'s worked fine, until now. I\'m pretty bad with computers and any help would be great : )

I tried to by pass this with opening the TS3 file, but is says it cannot be done do to side by side configuration being incorrect. My computer is a windows vista. What can I do to solve this problem?

I\'ve searched this problem and it seems that a huge amount of people have it, though none of the suggestions are helping me. The installation of my Sims 2 Nightlife gets to 1% and tells me that \"A problem occured when trying to transfer the file \'TSData\\Res\\Sound\\SfxKD1.package\' from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?\"
I\'ve played it before on a crappier computer so I know it used to work. There was a scratch on the disk that i had repaired, so I know it\'s probably that.
Question is, should i just download the damaged/missing file? If so, how?

second Sims deluxe cd isnt working.
Problem Summary: second Sims deluxe cd isnt working.
The first cd installs perfectly, it then asks to put in the second cd and this runs for a few minutes untill a box appears saying \'component transfer error\'. This happens when it is 95% installed. I thought this may be happening as there is a scratch on the cd but there is also a few on the first and that worked fine? If you could help that would be great.
