Problem Summary: WinMON
All was OK on PC until Friday. I tried to then network a laptop via my router. I had problems so disconnected everything and got rid of the Internet Gateway.
PC should be back OK but my Avast anti virus is not connecting overnight for auto updates. I cannot gain access to Avast website and other AV websites.
I have run Hijackthis and am told it displays winmon.exe in the registry from SDBOT.VB.
I have done a registry search for winmon and found 6 entries LM/SW/MS/Ole
(appears as name Windows Monitor and data winmon.exe
LM/SW/MS/Shared Tools/MsConfig/Startupreg/WinMonitor appears as name Command and data winmon.exe
ditto appears as name Item and data Winmon
CU/SW/MS/Search Ass/ACM/5603 appeasrs as name Name000 and data winmon.exe
LM/SW/MS/Shared Tools/CU/Run Services appears as name Windows Monitor and data Winmon.exe.
LM/SW/System/controlset001/control/LSA appears as name Windows Monitor and data Winmon.exe
Is it safe to delete all these entries.
Nothing shows up on various scans
