forced Installation

Problem Summary: forced Installation
I was reading sites about tips, tricks,hacks and cracks. The only thing I did was download TXT files.. While doing nothing, then A popup ad jumped up saying I had a system threat of various sorts, spyware, virus and trojan. I knew this was a gimmick to force your to click on the window, to download their software and install, but there was one problem... Clicking the X (fake X) in the corner forced me to invoke a download, In Fact, being that I monitor my Task manager closely, I soon found that three new programs were running in my processes.
After that, I tested the Pop up box and found out that ALT f4 wouldn\'t close it, Task Manager wouldn\'t close certain programs and got System protected errors in the directory, which were normal. I have looked at windows directories so much, that I noticed OUT OF THE ORDINARY NAMES, like. These files had wierd names that didn\'t make sense.. I wish I would have written them down..

.. I also discovered that the pop up window, was a false window, which was in reality one big link to force you to download the software and install.. After playing around with the task manager, I was able to disable (term) one program. but until the, I could not delete these programs from the hard drive. It was not like you delete window\'s files, and they pop back in. These programs were LOCKED with system protection. I also experience a background image on my black desktop, turning it blue with a stupid Blue picture Saying to download Protection software with a Virus Warning.
With my EXperience with Software, and listening to peoples problems, this seemed similar to Marketing BS... schema\'s.

I went to the display setting and that was a downfall, as there was no way to delete this image, as two tabs were gone, Screensaver, and Display. It deleted two tabs. I invoked, the SAVE as background to remomve the stupid image but my tabs are missing. After terming one of the new processes, the others were able to term, and then I was able to delete the new files. I was able to do all this easily, by hunting manually, cause ONLY Windows was installed. I know IE has an exploit to allow WEBSITE ASSHOLES to do crap like this to you, and Spybot fixes it, but I didn\'t run spybot yet, and my other op, has spybot and told me it fixed these problems, and I never had any problems.

I also have SP2 installed on this XP system, the one with all this crap happening, as I read on the web, that XP sp2 has flaws to allow for trouble like this. On a previous install, xp sp1, had no trouble. I do know one thing, if firefox or netscape was running, this BS wouldn\'t happen..

I just read about a program that forces people to buy their protection software, but until then, they are stuck with the similar problems I experience, but not all that I saw. I think I am more detailed in finding problems.

I believe a re-install of system components will bring my themes and stuff back up, like before..

My question is.. isn\'t it unlawful to put a popup ad window with no way to close it, that forces you to click on their ad which... no matter where you click, even on the CLOSE or X , it installs software without your consent?
I haven\'t booted up the system xp sp2 that was having this trouble since, but I plan to run some Utility software at the time to see what it says.
Also, this program screwed up my System Restore point wich was made earlier that day... and on the restore, it said, LAST known settings, instead up Check point, like I saw before it all happened.
These are my clues. Sounds like a winner, right?

I wanted to install the Cannon from a solution disk, but when I put the disk into CD-ROM or DVD ROM, there\'s pop-up error message displayed on the upper left of the whole computer screen \" the install.exe has generated errors, and will be closed by windows. Please restart your system again>\" However, it didn\'t improve the situation after I restart the computer, except the Cannon installation problem, other similar issues occured at the same time. As to MSN installation (error code 2506 and fix-up exe. files software). I\'ve been trying to fix them up with any effort I can, but it turned out really disappointed so far.

I am trying to install Cannon from a Cannon solution disk,but it failed due to an error message \" the install. exe has generated errors, and it will be closed by windows.
