Problem Summary: Desktop totally gets blanked
When I boot the computer, it brings me to user profile page that displays correctly. When I chose a profile loads and the screen is blank other than the desktop wallpaper. No Task bar, start button, icons, nothing but wallpaper. The only way to access the system is through control-alt-delete and choose "new task". From new task I can access all programs, even can choose desktop and it shows the desktop icons that you can open

Removed Trojan in safe mode, now cant see desktop
Problem Summary: Removed Trojan in safe mode, now cant see desktop
My system is Windows Vista Basic. Sony Vaio Laptop, 2 GB RAM, T5200 1.6GHz quad pro duo Processor.
I had a some trojan on my system. That crappy trojan was trying to download more files from internet. But I was able to rename most of the files it was downloading in the folder mentioned below. A few file names I remember .. ZOARY.exe, a few DLL files. I was able to find the file that was running Rundll32.exe and that dll file was located in c:\users\myname\AppData\Local\Temp\xxxxxxx.dll
I did msconfig and restarted in safe mode and then removed that file. This was the ONLY way to remove that file. I tried numerous other ways. Anyway, the file got removed and then did msconfig and restarted in normal mode. Now I cant see the desktop. Doing everything from Task Manager. The desktop is totally Blank and a black screen appears. I'm not sure what to do. That Rundll32.exe is still starting when I start computer. Then i goto TaskManager and then terminate the Rundll32.exe process. After terminating that stupid file, my Hard Drive LED stops flickering madly. Seems like the whole world is revolving around that Rundll32.exe file. Something is starting that file although it is not checked in the startup section of Msconfig. Please help and give me any leads as to what I can do to find that bugger loader/service which is loading the Rundll32.exe file everytime I start my system. Please help!

Virus, slow internet, blocked sites, d.exe program
Problem Summary: Virus, slow internet, blocked sites, d.exe program
I think I have a virus on my PC, I cant access any antivirus websites (for example, if I try symantec.com I get "connection was refused whe ntrying to contact symantec.com", the same thing happens with Mcafee or Trend Micro etc.). I managed to get a hold of a trial version of NOD32 antivirus but it couldn't find everything (it said it found and killed one or two things but every time I've run it since it finds a virus again which makes me think there's soemthing dug in and hiding somewhere). There was a program called "d.exe" that would run every time I started up my PC until I killed it through the task manager. Has since stopped running, because I found a program called "hijackthis" and killed the d.exe file as recommended by some tech forums. I Bought a copy of Norton AV but since I couldn't download it onto my computer I put it on another PC on my LAN and scanned my computer, it found nothing. The only symptoms really are that the web is slowed way down and still wont let me access those antivirus sites. I checked a few forums online and the things they mentioned where to check specific registry files for any alterations (nothing in the ones I checked) and to check the hosts file (no problems there as far as I can see). I am running Win XP Sp2 and the issue occurs on both Firefox and IE7
