Hello,

When attempting to view a video online my girlfriend unknowingly \"contracted\" the WinPC Defender trojan! This gave me issues typical of the WinPC Defender spyware along with a couple of other problems. Notably that I am getting the \"ViewMgr has encountered a problem and needs to close...\" as well as the issue that I get maybe 5 minutes worth of usage out of the computer before it freezes completely!

I was able (at least it appears as such) to get rid of the WinPC Defender deal by stopping the process > deleting the exe file in the windows registry and my application data folder.. and simply deleting the icon off the desktop! Not getting any WinPC Defender issues anymore!

But, I am still getting this ViewMgr error.. and the computer is still freezing up! Half the time it never even fully boots up.. meaning it never gets all the way through it\'s startup processes and just hangs there.. until a few minutes pass and then even the cursor freezes and again requires hard boot.

No icons on desktop

Problem Summary: No icons on desktop
Problem started with viewmgr could not be loaded then progressed to a blank desk top with just the backround. No icons, start, or tool bar. If you hit del-alt-control it tells you that Administator has disabled. No icons through starting up in safe mode. McAffe starts up if I let the computer sit long enough and has scanned and quarinteed viruses. What else do I need to do? Thanks for any help.

SO i got rid of ms adware 09 after installing mcaware, to remove it

I restart the computer, everything boots up normal, but then the only thing that shows is my desktop background, There are no icons, nor can i acces my task bar :(

I get messages that ask me to send error reports to Microsoft.com. Internet explorer is gone, but I can use Mozilla Firefox to access the web.

On my home laptop, every time I start up Windows XP, I get a ViewMgr error. Then nothing shows up on my desktop, and there\'s no way I can do anything. I ran malware bytes which quarantined a few things, then told me I needed to restart to remove the rest. However, when I restarted a microsoft error popped up saying viewmgr needed to close and send error report. I sent the error report but then was entirely unable to open internet explorer after clicking the icon. I could not open Malware bytes either. I am able to go on aim, so I know I have an internet connection, but am entirely unable to get on the internet now. I have restarted my computer but everytime I do that the message pops up asking to send an error report.

I have clicked on both Ok and Cancel and everytime i click on and log in my computer starts up ok but it starts very slow. Then the computer will sometimes freeze while doing nothing, or the computer will restart it self and end up back at the log in screen with the viewpointservice message or when i run a scan with one of my virus protection like Spyware Doctor it freezes up after a couple of minutes.

Recently my computer has been infected with viruses about two months ago. SO i bought Spyware Doctor and i have McCafee Security Suite from Comcast. I have been running many scans in Safe mode and in Safe mode with networking ever since. Ever since about a month ago i started logging on regularly and i would start getting this viewpointservice message so i would click either CANCLE of OK and then i would get the Application Problem pop up messages. And i found out the computer was still not clean. So then i went back in safe mode and scanned on both security applications until it says there are no more infections. So now i have signed on a couple of days ago and click on either the OK or the CANCLE button at the beginning and i stopped getting those pop up application problems but my computer still freezes and i cant really scan on either program and the computer is running very slow.

If you could help me out that would be very much appricated becuase i am really struggling with the answer.

Hi I am hoping you can help, just this past week I been having computer problems that I never had before. First it started with to many pops ups that I never normally get. I ran spybot and it found a few things but didnt seem to delete them. I was frusterated at this so I decided to do system a system restore after all methods failed.

It was seemingly woking fine for a whole day then today 3/28/08 it went crazy.

I bootup and enter my user name and password and the viewpointmanager.exe error shows up saying there is an error and needs to shut down. I clicked both methods cancel and debug and nothing happens. The frusterating part is I cannot access ANYTHING , no icons or start tool bars appear on my desktop, just a blank screen with my current desktop wallpaper.

The only thing I can get into is windows task manager, i read somewhere to find viewmgr/exe and end process but no such file displays on my proccess probably because of the error that said it needed it to shit down. well in any case i tried rebooting over 20 times and i get the same thing with no luck. i tried restrating in safe mode, nothing happens , i tried rebooting in last known working configurations and still nothing

I am using my laptop now to type this in hope in help. i really need to fix this error since i am a ful ltime college student and a lot of my work is on there, if not totally fixed at least in hopes to access my desktop so i can transfer and save some files i have on there.

A few days ago a program called Win PC Defender somehow got installed on my computer. I was able to run a few virus scans to get rid of it, but now my computer is doing weird stuff. Sometimes when I turn the computer on, it just goes black after the windows xp screen. I can move the cursor but there\'s nothing to click. Every time I turn my computer on I get a ViewMgr error. It says ViewMgr encountered a problem and needed to close. Also, when i click a google link the site windowsclick.com comes up. I dont know how to fix these problems.
