Under my configuration XPPro SP3, WFPro launches just fine. When I go to Scan and Fax, it starts to bring up the ScanGear CS program to do the scanning (I have two Epson scanners that create the same problem). Suddenly, it indicates a GPF with the controller and then with wfxctl32.exe. Clicking OK just closes everything and places another Controller icon in the system tray.

When I try to do any other type of function with WFPro, it indicates that it is already running and to wait. The only way out of the problem is to either close everything via the Task Manager or restart the computer.

I am able to scan and save an attachment in WFPro and then send a fax with the scanned page attached to it. This is a cumbersome workaround that should be accomplished by using the Scan and Fax command.

I have uninstalled but only using the uninstall program for WFPro. I am sure it did not do a complete uninstall. I have reinstalled twice and have produced the same results, no Scan and Fax.

I reinstalled the scanning software, CanoScan and ScanGear CS. Same result. I have used two different versions of the scanning software, one for a LiDE 30 and LiDE 70. Same problem using both scanners.

Window is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file.” When I go into my Task Manager I see where my system idle process CPU is running at 97%. The only thing running in Task Manager above 2 or 3 CPU is WFXCTL32.EXE. It varries from o to 18.

My machine is running slugishly also.
