I am not very good at understanding the world of computers. I will try my best to provide you with information about my case. Please forgive me if I added totally wrong information, I have no idea what is valuable to you in order to help me.

One year ago my internet supplier contacted me saying something like: a virus was trying to spread further from my IP address. I sought help over the internet: FBI:s help site etc. At http://www.dcwg.org/ it showed that I was infected with DNS Changer malware. I followed the instructions on how to remove the infection. I thought everything malicious was removed then.

But the last year I have had problems with the computer working rather slow (especially programs such as Microsoft Word), the computer telling me there is a lot of memory being used when using Mozilla Firefox, all computer mice I tried to work with are having problems to work through the different USB connections on my computer, my screensaver doesn’t work smooth/properly, and when out on the internet sometimes poker add windows shows up and I get redirected to other websites etc.

Today when I go to http://www.dcwg.org/ it sais:
Don’t Panic!
If you are reading this page, it means you are NOT infected with DNS Changer. Your device might still be violated with other malware.
And http://dns-changer.eu/en/check.php sais:
This computer with the IP address 80.216.32.40 and your home network are not infected with the 'DNSChanger-Trojan horse'.

The DNS servers my computer is using (when I in DOS shell, type in the command: ipconfig /all, hit enter and look at the information listed as “DNS Servers”) are:

fec0:0:0:ffff::2%1
fec0:0:0:ffff::3%1

To protect my computer I use:
AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2012
SUPERAntiSpyware 5.6.1014
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.75.0.1300

When I scan my computer with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware these two keeps showing up (even if I choose the remove button in this program they come back):

Hello, I have a computer (not the one I am currently on) that might or might not be infected with dnschanger. If the computer is connected to my wifi, the screen sputters and sends me straight to an FBI site (not sure if legitimate or more of another trojan) that asks for money to unlock it. If it is because of dnschanger what can I do now? I checked for dnschanger on that computer on July 7 and it checked out clean. It has been happening since July 13.

Hi There
My ISP (cogeco) has cut my service off, saying I have a virus. They restarted it and they have worked with me and after checking out different things it appears my computers are fine. I noticed nothing unusual,Inet works fine, computers work fine. Cogeco says my system is being used by someone else. I checked a canadian gov't web site listing rogue DNS server #'s. I've checked my computers and they don't show any rogue DNS #'s, I assume my router is compromised. How do I fix it?
Please keep it simple, I'm no IT guy.

I got attacked with the Cloud Security and after I finally removed it, I noticed that my firewall was still down. Avast is blocking a file called Win32:DNSChanger-VJ [Trj], but I can't seem to actually delete it because it keeps re adding itself to the computer. If you need any other info, well, the code in front of it is 80000032.@ and its in C:WindowsassemblytmpU

a few weeks ago i realized my computer was infected i downloaded kaspersky, scanned and everything seemed normal after that. last night i realized i couldnt update my windows and it kept saying my help and support wasnt supported. i went though my task and didnt find anything unusual. i did find msconfig/startup its listed as apodmvre....rundll32.exe cwindowsapodmvre.dll startup....i couldnt find any information on this so yes i did do something stupid and i deleted anything that had that in the file. i keeep finding trojan dns changer and it wont go away either. now my internet wont connect to anything. on my modem all the usual lights are on...but it wont connect to firefox ...internet explorer ...nothing.

hi, I've tried many times to remove my trojan dsn changer from my computer and the other comps in my house, we have a router on the main comp and I think its what hosts the virus, it keeps coming back to the other comps when I remove it I think because we use the main comp (which is infected) to access the net. I'm not sure how to fix this, would reformating the main comp that hosts the router, then using malware bytes and reseting the router (hitting the reset on the actual router box) fix this? Any ideas or tips would greatly help!

Problem Summary: Trojan.DNS changer

I get redirected when searching links with yahoo. I have Internet explorer 8. I ran antimalware bytes and did a full scan. It detected 2 Trojan dns viruses and removed them. I then restarted the CPU and it was still redirecting me. I researched it and i read that you would have to manually change the router and passwords because once removed it will direct your CPU to the same link and upload itself again. I'm not really savvy on the technical side as far as troubleshooting my CPU. Can you help me?
