Problem Summary: CA Anti-virus doesn't get rid of Bifrose AGJ

My anti-virus (by CA technologies) recognizes the trojan Bifrose AGJ and quarantines it. It then gives me the option to delete it, but when I do and run another scan it just reappears.

It does tell me the location but when I go there to remove it, it's just not there at all. (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\WOW6432Node\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run)

Another thing that I've noticed is that my anti-virus recognizes the trojan right after it scans files in UNKNOWN_HIVE\... (which I could never find).

I have windows 7 on 64-bit laptop. Any help at all will be appreciated.

Problem Summary: Win32.backdoor.Bifrose; trojan.downloader and trojan.popuper

This is driving me crazy! I have fully updated copies of SUPER Antispyware (free version), The Shield 2008 and Ad-aware (Free version, all of which cannot seem to solve this problem, although Spyware doctor can detect it (I have not paid for spyware doctor, so cannot use it to remove the problem, and I cannot afford spyware doctor). My computer is so slow, Firefox ceases to respond after a few seconds of being opened.

Upon startup, icons do not come on the screen for a long time, and a box in the top left corner says something about setting personalised settings for C:\\DELETED.DATA.POWER.EXE and another one I can\'t remember. Then the icons appear, and a message appears saying \"Windows explorer has encountered an error and will close\", and another error message about DrWatson Debugger comes up. Spyware doctor detects biforse, whilst ad-aware detect the trojans. The Shield is useless and detects nothing. Please help!!

Problem Summary: Bifrost not getting deleted even after scanning

The Bifrose backdoor virus i have is not getting deleted even after i scanned several times with ESET NOD32. I also performed online scans from OneCare, each time the virus is deleted, it appears again in a folder in Program Files with the name Bifrost. Also, i am getting worms in autorun.inf in all of my system\'s drivers. I think this worm also creates a win.jpg file which is stated by ESET as quarantined, but it appears again. One major problem is also that a file win.exe in the system32 folder is executed each time i boot my system.

We examined this request and answered Ali by email.

Problem Summary: win32.backdoor.bifrose & worm32.autorun

Upgraded to Ad-Aware AE. Full scan revealed nothing - however, every now and again, Ad-Aware message window pops up saying it had prevented win32.backdoor.bifrose.

Go to quarantine and both this and worm32.autorun are shown. I delete the threats (and have deleted the files they pointed at) only for the message to repeat a little later.

Help, never had a virus before and it\'s driving me nuts. Thx.

Problem Summary: Can\'t delete Viruses

I can\'t seem to get rid of two viruses that keep showing up on my computer - Trojan:Bat/Secoff.A and Backdoor:Wn32/Rbot.gen!A

I am currently running MS-Live One Care. I deleted everything in the temporary file. I then restarted my computer and the Live One Care booted up and said I have a virus - Trojan:Bat/Secoff.A. So it went through it\'s scan and said it removed it. I then restarted the computer again and booted into safe mode and did a scan as Microsoft directed. The safe mode scan said it detected one virus (Secoff.A) and it said it was quarantined. I wasn\'t sure how to delete it so I restarted the computer again. Live One Care started up again and listed the same virus again. Live One Care went through its steps and removed it. Again, I restarted my computer and the same virus turned up once more. I can\'t seem to delete these viruses - they come back each time I restart my computer. Any suggestions?

My Max Secure spyware detector picks up Backdoor.Bifrose and I delete it. I run the scan again and it\'s back again immediately. I\'ve looked for the files using Task manager and Regedit but I can\'t see any of the files there. Every time I boot up, Spyware detector finds Backdoor and tells me it has deleted it but if I run a scan, it\'s back again.

Problem Summary: Norton detects Backdoor.Bifrose but cannot fix

A routine scan with new Norton virus defs, etc, found \"Backdoor.Bifrose\". Norton says it \'resolved\' one problem but another remains. It provides a link to the Symantec website, which offers no help other than to say \'must be manually deleted\'.

I clicked on the \'remove\' button. Additional scans again detect the same virus. However, Norton scans provide no info as to location of the virus or associated files.

A search using Windows search tool, looking in hidden and system folders, provides no matches.

The Windows Task Manager (I use XP-Pro) shows no process anything like Bifrose.

Very confused. I\'ve noticed no unusual activity, except some websites are slow to load. I use dialup, max speed 26k.

Thanks for any advice.
