I have been having problems on the internet using Internet Explorer, after a while I would start getting Page not available messages even though I was still connected. I use ClamWin Free AV and this didn\'t seem to find it so I downloaded (from Google) PC Tools Spyware Doctor and it found a number of infections of various types and claimed to have removed them. However the above problem seems to install itself every time I boot the machine (Laptop running XP Pro). Spyware Doctor indicates a file \"C:\\windows\\logfile32.txt\" as being the one infected; this file is 0 bytes in length, appears to have no information in it at all and will not let me delete it or change its name etc. I get the message that it is in use by someone else and cannot be accessed. I have tried deleting it using the command prompt \"del /F logfile32.txt\" but still no joy. I would appreciate any help you may be able to give.

Hey there,
Earlier today, I plugged in my flash drive to transfer some photo albums from my dad\'s laptop to mine. In the process (or possibly immediately before, I can\'t remember which) I got a warning from AVG Anti-Virus (Free version) notifying me that it had detected \"Trojan horse BackDoor.Ircbot.HCZ\" and moved it to the virus vault. I promptly deleted from the Virus Vault (and I believe my computer in the process?) but the \"Object\" (which I presume to be the location the virus was discovered) was G:\\start.exe; the G drive being my flash drive, and my guess is that start.exe is its auto-run function. I unplugged the flash drive and plugged it back in, but this time nothing happened. I scanned the flash drive with both AVG and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but neither came up with any results.
My question is, shouldn\'t it still be on the flashdrive, and why aren\'t my programs picking it up? Or is there anything else you can tell me to make sure my computer\'s clean? Thank you!!!

Ive been having a problem with my computer for awhile now. It first started off with my computer restarting by itself. I have been given a laptop to use which seems to be completley riddled with virus\'s! It is a ibm thinkpad and is running xp and norton 2003. I updated the virus checker and ran a scan and it came up straight away with sillydc.exe virus. I have tried to remove it with spybot and disabled the file from running at startup, lavasoft, and Malwarebytes. I also disabled sytem restore. It\'s still here and can\'t get rid of it help!
The programs are also picking up a lot of other virus\'s the previous owner had made an imgage dvd disk and installed everything so it\'s something in the disk I think. It\'s crashed twice and after the bios screen went to a black screen with a cursor blinking. This is still there but it now loads to xp normally. The owner also replaced the hard drive a couple of days ago.
So firstly I want to know how to get rid of sillydc.exe and secondly it has windows service pack three but doesn\'t have any other packs on it. Does it need invidual installation of one and two? If I was to reinstall the operating system would if get rid of all the virus\'s . How can I completley wipe the drive. I did try to reinstall one but it intalled over the top rather than a clean install.
