Windows Vista: Possible Virus
Problem Summary: Windows Vista: Possible Virus
I am writing for a friend who is stationed in Iraq. I believe he may have a virus. Icons disappear plus he keeps getting pop ups saying update windows security, etc. I tried to help him when he could get on and sent a link to an antivirus site thru Yahoo Messenger but when I started walking him thru it he was not seeing what I was seeing. I know that he uses Skype and Yahoo Messanger to talk to family at home. He has also downloaded some movies from the internet. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated because this is his only communication line back home to family and friends. Thanks

How do I know my conime.exe is legit?
Problem Summary: How do I know my conime.exe is legit?
I have conime.exe running in my Task Manager on Windows Vista (out of the blue, cause it's never been there before)I don't have any of the other processes or files associated with BFghost. Properties in conime.exe say it's a Microsoft file. Neither Spyware Terminator, Avast, or Panda Online Scanner find anything. Aparently, nothing to worry abt, except my computer is set for Portuguese, and also, after I kill the process, it comes back. And yesterday, for some reason, there were two instances of it running. Is there reason for worry or I'm just being paranoid?
Thank you in advance.

conime.exe
Problem Summary: conime.exe
Hello,
I recently found conime.exe process among the others. It was for the first time so i susspected that something might be wrong with it. And yea i can't do anything with it. All the rights about it have some user related to it called 'trustedinstaller' which i can't affect either. I am pretty sure its some kind of virus. I checked a lot of sites and forums but couldn't find an effective way how to get rid of it. I am using windows wista and non asian language. The file itself is located in C:\Windows\System32 and has size of 68608 bites. I even used some free scanners but with no result. I also noticed that my computer is reacting slowly and some functions aren't working how they should. I'd be gratefull for any suggestions how to solve it.
Thanks Josef M.

Problem Summary: conime at start-up
i have successfully removed the conime.exe baddy from my XP OS and have had no problems since then. what i do have (every time i start my computer for 4 months) is a startup notification that states it is "unable to find the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\conime.exe path" message. i realize that since the bug isn't "there" anymore that it can't "find" it, how do i get rid of that message?
