I have not received similar emails from him for at least a month. I assume that was able to remove the virus or that the virus is initiated on a calendar based command that causes it to send on a periodic basis and then stops on either a temporary or permanent basis.
My computer is apparently infected with something that started on 12/24/10 and I cannot get it to stop. I have tried the following using the following programs to no avail: McAffee, Norton, AVG-Antivirus, Spyware-Fighter, Malawarebytes, SpywareFighter and the Canadian
Pharmacy Removal Tool without success. I have also used Spybot , Ad-aware and Spysweeper to no avail. I fear that this malware might hijack the address books of any recipients that may have opened the email.
The AVG Antivirus detected but did not remove the following threat, Exploit Pharmacy Spam site (Type 1173). It identified the process name as:
