Printer would not respond, it worked fine the last time I used it. Finally decided to shut down and restart to see if that would help. A dialogue box opened, one of those Not Responding type with an end now button. WHen I selected that the shut down proceeded. Hi!

I have a C91 Epson Stylus printer and I have been using Digitalstar (digitalst@r) generic cartridges as replacements. I installed two full cartridges (magenta and black) and everything worked fine for a day, until I cancelled a print job halfway. When I tried printing again, the status monitor refused to print, saying that the magenta and black cartridges were incompatible. I tried everything (cleaning heads etc) but eventually took my printer in. They tested the cartridges as incompatible in my printer, but they worked in another printer. New catridges (still the same generic ones, not Epson) worked, and I was advised to buy new cartridges.

That was a week ago. Everything worked fine - until last night. I cannot recall printing a single digit in colour since replacing the cartridges after the incident above, by the way. Last night, my printer ran out of paper halfway during a print job. I fetched additional paper, put it in the printer and pressed button with the orange light to proceed (as I always did). Up popped the status monitor, saying the magenta (the full, new one) was incompatible!!!!

I went to the computer store, only to hear that the suppliers had tested the previous \"faulty\" magenta and black and that they were fine! The owner of the store says he\'s had these kind of problems and theye even vanish after a different acrtridge is inserted and used and then replacing it with the one that had tested incompatible or empty at e previous occasion. This cartridge will, for no reason, be working again!

Anyway, can you please tell me what to do to sort this problem out? I cannot afford to buy original cartridges, if that is one of the answers (hehe).

I have successfully installed an Epson Stylus C92 printer, but when I look on the \"Printing Preferences\" page for \"Maintenance\", the \"Status Monitor 3\" button is greyed out. I am running Vista & EpsonStylus CX3650.
Yesterday I did a Windows update.
Shortly afterwards I received a dialogue box
which said \"Status Monitor 3 Environment check
stopped working and was closed\"
Since then I cannot get my printer to print nor
do I have the Status Monitor.
I also have Windows XP and the printer is ok
with this computer.
Any suggestions ?
