multiple SVC host errors

Problem Summary: multiple SVC host errors
I keep getting Svchost.exe errors that state one of the following two things...

1.

The instruction at \"0x75e9bc06\" referenced memory at \"0x00000064\" The memory could not be \"read\".

or

2.

The Instruction at \"0x75e9bffe\" referenced memory at \"0x75e9bffe\" could not be \"read\"

Click OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug.

When you click ok or cancel, the message simply continues to appear. Windows will operate around it, but several programs on the comptuer do not work properly. Among them Internet Explorer does not connect to the Internet, and the CD burner no longer functions.

Around the time the error emerged, CA Associates Etrust internet security suite software which had been removed over a year before, reappeared on the computer, along with Webroot Spy Sweeper, and Omni Pass, all of which had been removed several months prior. No uninstall files for those programs are present on the computer, though I was able to remove the Etrust Suite.

When the computer runs in safe mode with networking, I can access the Internet, and the error message does not appear, however I can only accomplish this on the \"Administrator\" name. I can not do this on any other user account on the computer. The other programs still appear, and they also crippled the antivirus I am currently using, though I was able to remove that from the computer as well. There should be no antivirus on the computer, but Windows seems to think something is still on there, and I cannot get into the Security features to verify what it thinks is there. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Problem Summary: Google Hijack & Unable to update Virus and Spyware Sites
My google search is hijacked. The search works, but it redirects when you clicl on a link.

Also, I cannot access any site having to do with spyware or virus protection. I cannot update my AVG free nor access the site to do so.

I looked at the task manager and noticed svchhost.exe Can I end the task and then update the AVG free or somehow get rid of this? Is this the source of my problem? I temporarlily blocked cookies, but may need to turn them back on to enable the arithmetic expression below.
Thank you.
