I have Windows ME with IE 6 and am having problems with lexplore.exe.
At first it just closed out random stuff, but now it seems to target my high traffic areas, even preventing me from watching anything on youtube.

It usually comes up as \'lexplore has caused in error in FLASH and will now close\' but other times FLASH is replaced by kernell or a similar spelling.

It usually only closes out the one I\'m currently on, but sometimes FLASH comes up first, then KERNELL comes up afterwords finishing everything off.

This has been going on for a couple of years, but I thought it was an Internet Explorer thing that protected you until I did some research today. I have ran many anti-virus fixers but they don\'t get rid of it.

First let me say that when I open task manager I saw that WINWORD.exe was running at about 97%. I killed it and now I still am getting the low resources message, but now task mgr shows lexplore.exe running. I also have about 10 svchost.exe running along with a lot of other programs I know nothing about. I dont know if this is related, but I also have a problem with outlook express. When I send certain emails, it sends multiple copies, like 10-20 of the same email to the same people. I dont know what is going on.

So I believe its a bug because when you open up Internet Explorer it has a different process name and its never started by the System. I also get a message saying that \"An error has occurred and it will need to terminate\" which is just another reason for the virus to re-run itself after I kill the process in the task manager. I have recently gotten a virus. I realized this because while I was on my computer, a pop-up window would appear, and then many other pop-ups would follow. When I hit control-alt-delete, I found IEXPLORE.exe listed in my processes. I then found the actual program when I went into My Computer, C Drive, and then clicked on the Windows folder. I found 3 different applications/files that whenever I deleted them, they reappeared after a reboot. One was called IEXPLORE, the other is called upd.dll, and the other is called cdti. They are 3 files which all have the same date and time created, and all reappear after a reboot. Not quite sure if they are all considered harmful, I know IEXPLORE is because I\'ve read plenty about it on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
