Problem Summary: Possible virus

My initial alert was that my AV program (mcafee) was turned off. After that, I did a scan and it stated that I had the smithfraud virus. I downloaded the tool to fix that, scanned with malewarebytes in (I ran both in safe mode)...after I ran malewarebytes three times and came up with no issues, I then rebooted to windows and now I'm in military time and my desktop is gone. I ran adaware and it showed 10 files infected. I deleted those. I re-ran malewarebytes and nothing shows, but I still have issue with time and I also have to put my desktop back manually. I did not rescan with McAfee.
Thanks for your time.
