Gspot

ExchangeMaster.exe

Downloader

Win32 (Windows XP, Vista, Seven, 8)

The basic target of Gspot is hidden unsanctioned downloading of programs from the wide-area net. You may detect a great traffic enlarge and apparition of many new applications not executeed by you. Furthermore, the risk of multiple separate attack components being detected by security software is much lower than if a single file were used. If, following action by antivirus software producers, the Gspot parts of an attack sequence are uncovered by antivirus software, the assaulters can easily create new Gspot elements and reuse the other parts of the attack. This means that, in the manyness of cases, there will not be any clear tell-tale signs that they are running on a PC. On a positive note, malicious sites related to Gspot often have a narrowed life period before being closed down or cleaned up.

Gspot intrusion method

Gspot copies its file(s) to your hard disk. Its typical file name is ExchangeMaster.exe . Then it creates new startup key with name Gspot and value ExchangeMaster.exe . You can also find it in your processes list with name ExchangeMaster.exe or Gspot. Also, it can create folder with name Gspot under C:\Program Files\ or C:\ProgramData.

Problem Summary: Codecs not working, GSpot not identifying the required codec

Me and my girlfriend share video files except I have no problem with playback but she does. I explained that she required the relevant codecs and that I was using DivX and ffdshow. She downloaded and installed them and the avi still didnt play back.

I then recommended getting a codec pack to install all major codecs and still the problem persisted. I then looked for a solution and found out about CCCP Insurgent software which lets you know which codecs you already have on your computer because obviously some of them may conflict, and advises you to unistall all codecs before installing the CCCP codec pack. the only codec that appeared was identified as 'uninstalled' thus she could install the codec pack without problems. she did this and the problem still wasnt solved.

i then came across the GSpot software which is supposed to identify the codec the selected file requires for playback. When she opens the selected files within GSpot however, the 'video' and 'codec' and 'stat' sections are blank with no information. she has uninstalled all possible software that may interfere with playback but she still has a problem meaning no downloaded files work, even on apparently 'codec-free' players, like VLC Media Player.

We need your help! thanks in advance.

Problem was successfully solved. Ticket was closed.
