VNC intrusion method

VNC installs on your PC along with free software. This method is called "bundled installation". Freeware offers you to install additional module (VNC). Then if you fail to decline the offer it starts hidden installation. VNC copies its file(s) to your hard disk. Its typical file name is vnsystask.exe. Sometimes it creates new startup key with name VNC and value vnsystask.exe. You can also find it in your processes list with name vnsystask.exe or VNC. Also, it can create folder with name VNC under C:\Program Files\ or C:\ProgramData. After installation VNC starts displaying ads, pop-ups, banners on your PC or in browsers. It is recommended to remove VNC immediately.

Problem Summary: unauthorized spyware/VNC

Hi. So my wife physically removed my laptop from the home and when it was returned it was obvious it had been dicked with. Poorly. Briefcase files that were never there, internet gateway now open, VNC component found in Windows, etc. I'm telling you, she has let someone in and I'm 99% positive that my web, keystroke and email activity is being monitored offsite! Can you help me?

Problem Summary: missing ifle

Hello,
I'm at my grandma's computer, she has Windows XP Professional and I just found she has this VNC.
I would like to ask if it's necessary for her to have it. She also has TeamViewer and it all starts when the computer starts (it's in MSconfig in startup). And on top of that there's a file "othread2.dll" missing, so all it does is, that when the computer starts there's a pop-up window, that it could not be executed, because the "othread2.dll" file is missing. Or if I can't remove it,I would like to ask if I can atleas remove it from the startup.
Thank you,
Dominika.

PS: I'm sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
