Received a virus warning through AVG to tell me that it detected

AVG now says the threat was removed, and additional scans now show nothing. Installed DownloadWin32.Trojan-PSW.Sinowal Removal Tool, and ran a deep scan, which found nothing. Problem Summary: Wife received viruswarning in Explorer which she tought was real.

She started to execute the guidelines given because it all looked genuine. I think it deleted some files, not sure at this time because I was not there at that moment..
Then she called me to inform me we had virusses. a pop up came to DL something.
At that moment she called me to have a look. She told me also that this morning when she was surfing she had something suspicious in for IE 8. She closed that immediately. Apparently it was the same thing which I saw now. After quick look, I saw it was in explorer, the icon in the url bar was the same icon as in google. but because I did not see a mcafee icon I closed all related windows instantly and closed all open programms. I started my McAfee IS 2010 Software immediately to do a complete scan. Result was OK, to be found in the attachment At the same time I had a look in the history of explore to see if I saw that URL again. I was not sure of the names which popped up in that pages but if I recall correctly sinowal was mentionned. It showed me that I had about 10 viruses and 4 were detected. Unfortunately the url in the history was not present so I could not take screenshots. I then did a complete deletion of my browser history, I selected all the items which show up. I also logged in to my mcafee account to try to report this and then I came to this site after following the link of avert on the mcafee website at the bottom of the contact/help page.
I use following:
OS windows 7
IE 8 version 8.0.7600.16385
last days received some updates as well.
